Test Facility
TITECH's automatic sorting test facility at its headquarters in Mühlheim-Kärlich, Germany, is the biggest of it’s kind worldwide.
Launched in July 2010, the 1,500m² complex is the world’s largest testing facility and has undertaken over 300 tests in the last 12 months for customers based in more than 40 countries. Set out in a loop which initially prepares the waste by screening combined with the use of a ballistic separator, the test facility features all of TITECH's associated sorting and recycling technologies.
Representing an overall investment of €4.5 million, the testing facility has been designed to allow several different processes to run concurrently, ensuring that a customer’s operating environment can be accurately simulated. TITECH has been managing its own test facilities for many years, and our continued development pace at various test facilities has meant that our operational capabilities are being continually refined and improved.
The facility is directed by TITECH’s Dr Ralph Uepping and operated by a specialist team of engineers, who work directly with customers to develop innovative work flows during the testing process. This approach enables TITECH to provide a level of test support which is unsurpassed within the industry.
All our consultants are experienced experts in the practical aspects of waste recycling and processing of raw materials. When implementing complete systems, TITECH closely collaborates with renowned plant builders from anywhere in the world no matter how big or small the project.
All TITECH customers have the option of using the test facility. During testing Dr Uepping and his engineering team ensure that the sorting systems are calibrated to deliver optimum levels of sorting and recycling for each individual customer’s requirements. Experiencing the testing facility first-hand allows customers to sort any material of their choosing, and see the results for themselves. Furthermore, results from these early tests can be input onto customers’ new machines, ensuring that their new sorting environment is incredibly efficient from the moment they start using the machine.
Wide range of applications can be tested
Over 25 different applications can be tested including the recovery of copper from ferrous scrap, organic waste separation, wire recovery, WEEE, car shredder, mixed municipal waste sorting and packaging sorting. TITECH has many more testing sites around the world, allowing our global customer base to test everything from our new mining technology, to our state-of-the-art recycling machines.
