TITECH UK sorts more following European rebrand

World-leading optical sorting manufacturer TITECH has completed a restructuring of its European business that includes a major expansion of the range of sensor based sorting technologies it offers to the UK recycling industry.

The trademark orange by which TITECH systems are so clearly identified has been retained, but the company has adopted a new identity that includes the use of insect imagery to reinforce their multiple sensor offering, a new logo and new corporate literature.

Jonathan Clarke, head of TITECH UK, says: “The restructure and rebranding is to ensure that our extended offering is clear to our customers. Following the acquisition of the German mining and minerals specialist CommaDaS, we have a whole new range of sensor technologies on offer for the recycling industry. As a result, we can offer automated sorting for virtually any material that needs to be recovered from the UK waste stream.

“We are no longer just talking about recovery from domestic sources, in the form of plastics, paper or beverage cartons, but also from commercial and industrial waste streams as well. In these applications our sorting systems can be used for the removal of contaminants for purity as well as sorting one material from another.”

The new sensing technologies added to TITECH’s existing optical sensing portfolio include:

X-Ray Transmission Imaging which permits separation on an atomic level and can be used in ELV recycling and removal of contaminants from refuse-derived fuels;
true colour line-scan cameras which can be used for separating PCBs from a mixed WEEE fraction; copper or brass from a mixed non-ferrous fraction.
electro-magnetic sensors which provide highly accurate metal recovery and are used in WEEE and scrap metal applications.
