This week (28th & 29th April) TITECH are holding their Demolition Day 2010 event in Bad Ems in Germany. A forum of European experts will discuss how we can prepare to meet the challenge of reducing C&D waste sent to landfill and see a live waste sorting trial.
Thousands of tons of recyclable materials from construction and
demolition (C&D) activities are sent to landfill every day. The new
EU directive 2008/98/EC requires that by 2020 70% of these waste streams
are recovered in all EU-member states, but current treatment facilities
provide only limited scope to sort C&D waste into recyclable
fractions.
On 28 & 29
April 2010, TITECH, the world's number 1 in sensor based optical
sorting, will hold Demolition Day in Bad Ems, Germany. A forum
of European experts will discuss how we can prepare to meet this
challenge and see a live waste sorting trial. The seminar will tackle
key topics such as
- How will European legislation influence the C&D sector?
- What is the potential for sorting recyclables from C&D
waste?
